We hit this big dip in the road with our caravan on big. Such a thud was caused that when I got home the overhead locker had come open and a plate had fallen out and smashed on workgroup. Fortunately it hasn't hit the glass cooker lid which would have smashed! Eaves knoll road and High Lea road is getting worse and worse! You cannot see when pulling out of high lea rd because of vehicles parking on double yellow lines (black Ben's & vans)!! Very dangerous. Please examine the dip in road as it is in need of repair asap. Thank you

  • Road sinking - Cracking., 16th May
A617 - Chesterfield Road. Road heading towards Mansfield is cracking up & sinking quite badly, just past the pedestrian crossing maybe 50 metres away. This should have got repaired when the A617 Mansfield Road into Glapwell was repaired a few weeks ago. Come on guys lets see it repaired! I know its a bugger of a job keeping up with the roads but lets not let this one get any worse.

  • Bad section of road., 16th May
Bolsover - New Station Road [hill] A few month's ago New Station Road the road there was renewed from the top at the A632 Langwith Road junction to about halfway down the hill but thats where it stopped and the rest of the holes/cracks are just bodged/filled to the little roundabout at Car Vale Road/Villas Road. The rest of the road needs to be renewed too! Can't understand why the job was being done so well yet it just stopped! Who gave the order to say ''right thats it we've done a bit so sod it'' needs to be sacked! Why is it money comes before safety.

  • Sunken man hole cover., 16th May
A617 - Mansfield Road - Glapwell. On entering Glapwell from Pleasley there is a sunken man hole cover which is near/apposite the old/knocked down petrol station! The tarmac is breaking up around it and it needs rebuilding & levelling, I see many vehicle drivers swerving around this cover to miss going into it. One thing that has made me and other road users angry is that sections of the A617 road has been renewed to a high standard YET there is a section a tarmac which is about 25 metres long which has been un-touched, in this section is the cover! It boggles me completely that this section has been left un-touched un-repaired, yet other sunken man hole covers have been sorted. The cover needs re-building & levelling before an accident happens when a car swerves around the cover and side swipes another vehicle. Please send an inspector out to get this checked over and get it repaired please. Oh why I'm at it !! Give the contractors a big pat on the back for gritting the roads From Glapwell to Bolsover[Glapwell Lane/Losk Lane] for gritting over watery puddles - mud - cracks - holes - grates....WELL DONE! QUALITY JOB!!!! Who ever sets on these contractors to re-grit roads needs sacking! I've seen Gypo's do a more quality job. Yours a very dissatisfied road user.

  • Previously reported potholes not repaired, 16th May
I reported these potholes about 8 weeks ago and you sent details to Derbyshire Council. They allocated a job number CD933158 and reported back to me that they had been repaired. However, they seem to have repaired other potholes on this road and signed off the job as having been done. They were the wrong potholes! The ones I originally reported have still not been repaired. They are on the left of the road between the turn-off to Birchover and Stoney Lee Lodge, going towards Bakewell. There is a previously repaired area which is broken down, and a further series of potholes a few yards up from this.
