  • Broken, uneven and defective pavements, weeds, dog mess, 22nd June
As a working parent who pays full council tax I feel that the state of the pavements on both sides of Bathurst Road Carr Vale are utterly disgusting. The tarmac on most areas of the pavements all the way down the sides of the road is broken up and uneven to walk on to the points that the defects are over 1 inch deep. Elderly people who have to walk up the street really struggle and opt to use the pavement on Charlesworth St. My young son has tripped on the defects on several occasions. To be frank the pavement is just in a disgusting state. The council may think it is not a priority to effect works down this particular area. However to my knowledge of being a life long resident pavement works have only taken place one in the last 35 years. Please can something be done. The area may not be up to standard but that is not the fault of all the residents. There are actually a number of council tax paying residents who deserve the same treatment as residents who choose to reside in a better area.

The torrents of water have now removed tonnes of road stone from the access road rendering it unsafe to drive on unless you own a large 4x4 or tractor. Estimates of repair are in the region of £1000.
